INVADERS...
Over the past month or so we've been slowly invaded by little furry immigrants. As adorable as they are, I'm concerned with their lack of reproductive abstenance, and figured I'd best hold a round-up (of the humane sort). Off I went to Wally World to purchase a few humane meecy mousy traps. Total failure. The mouse traps Walmart sells are useless! Totally useless! Finally, a suitable trap was found at Lowes, though a bit more dee-luxe then I was looking for, but it seems we're not the only folks in Morgantown with an immigration problem.
Within a couple hours of setting our deluxe trap on the floor, against the wall (as per the instructions), I had my first weee little brown mouse. Totally adorable little creature. The trap was set back in the same place, and voila... another few hours pass, and I have a pair of meecy mouses. Now what? It's bitterly cold outside, and I certainly don't want to dump our furry little visitors into a hostile environment, so they're being temporarily housed.
Oh, and one day later? We have a trio of furry little immigrants. Must find suitable outdoor accomodations for them, far from our abode.
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW
This past week we had bitterly cold temperatures outside, and a dusting of snow. Yes! I love the snow. Can't wait for a nice blanket of it to arrive.
THIS WEEK: DOCTORS AND LABS
Fr. Tony continues to struggle along. We think he "might" be getting a wee bit better. With each day, he seems to regain a slight bit of strength, but as soon as we make note of it, he's wiped out again. Tony's walking stick is ever present, even as he hobbles round the house.
The discomfort he feels when he tries to eat is keeping him from eating the quantity of food he'd become used to. I've been trying to get more yogurt based foods/smoothies in him, and today I picked up a (very expensive! hrumph) box of acidophiles (Thank you Michael and Judy for the advice). We hope this will help clear up the thrush in his esophagus, thanks to the legions of antibiotics he's been taking.
This has been a rough couple of weeks, and we're hoping he'll be back to feeling well, soon, especially with Christmas and another round of chemo looming on the horizon.
Since our Dr. Craig was out of town part of this week, we saw another oncologist. I promised I would not grumble in here, since I don't want anyone to think I'm ungrateful, but from this point forward our Dr. Craig will NOT be allowed to leave town. Period! (grin) This doesn't mean we didn't enjoy meeting the "other" doctor, but it's kinda frustrating when the doctor you're entrusting your care and wellness to, seems to think you have a heart problem or diabetes!??... and isn't quite sure what your regime is/was, or what meds you're on. OY
Tomorrow (actually, today.. yes, it's 4:30am) Tony will attempt the 10:30am Service with our special visitor, The Reverend Doctor George Werner. Tony's very much looking forward to seeing George. Hopefully Tony won't set himself back too far, but exerting himself as much as taking a service requires of one.
EBAY and EARTHENWARE IS LAUNCHED....
After spending several days getting the parish website up to snuff, I slipped in some time getting my eBay items photographed and ready to list. Producing an eBay listing can be as easy or as complicated as you like, but it does require a lot of effort, if a professional looking ad is the goal. After many hours of tweeking, I got my first listing up and running. Several will upload later today. Check it out!

ABBS OF STEEL...

Abbey and Lee have found an even better apartment in downtown Raleigh's historic district, and it's looking very good that they'll get it! YAY! On top of that, our Abbey has been offered a spot on the Raleigh Roller Derby team. I've already suggested the name, "Abbs of Steel". grin If she opts to join the team, she's going to be one fit puppy! Those girls get quite the workout on wheels. Megan told her, "Zanadu is in your blood".... hahaha.... As the girls were growing up, their all time favorite movie was Zanadu. If anything, being part of a high exertion sport like roller skating, will be a nice outlet for the frustrations of the every day working world. GO ABBEY!!!
Must crawl back into bed and steal another hour or so of sleep. I'll be paying for this by lunchtime.
