Fr. Tony Update: Eye Institute follow up and rest of day at Cancer Center...

On tap for today was a simply follow up visit with Dr. Sevak at 10am, and my Math class at 3:30pm.

As a result of Tony running a fever most of last night, along with a painful ankle, we called Dr. Craig, and ended up going over to have labs done and check in with Dr. C. After a couple hours wait (along with every other cancer patient within 200 miles.... ok, so I'm exaggerating), Tony was looked over, and we talked about the biopsy results.

The good news (we think) is that Tony was not found to have amyloidosis. Reports indicate he's got "more of the same".... lymphoma in the eye tissue and muscle. I have no clue what that means. Dr. C. will be doing a bone marrow biopsy soon, but all other tests are on hold temporarily. I wish I could tell you more about the actual status of things, but I'm back in the dark, and not understanding it.

Tomorrow morning at 8am we'll head over to the cancer center for Tony to be hooked up to an IV, then spend the day being infused with chemo. I believe this will be a fairly intensive round, and he'll be wiped out for a few days. There's even a possibility of hair loss! OY

The not so good news is I missed my math class, and a chapter test. ugh

Tomorrow's another long day. Must get sleep.
