NOTE TO OUR BLOG READERS:
I've been thinking there are some on our email list who view the blog solely for updates on Fr. Tony. From this point forward, all Fr. Tony updates will be the first entry in the blog. If you don't see "Fr. Tony Update", then please feel free to delete the email.
As this is a "family" blog, I also post blurbs about what's rambling around in my mind, and share interesting things I've found in life, and on the internet. This burbling will (from this point forward) always be posted after the Fr. Tony update, for those not interested in my mindless rantings and creative ventures.
FR. TONY UPDATE: Steroids are our friend
You all know by now that last week was a little slice of hell. But, after seeing Dr. C and getting permission for Tony to take some steroids, he was feeling fit as a fiddle (well, maybe that's a stretch, but considering the alternative.... it's pretty close to accurate). Unfortunately, with the wearing off of the steroids, he's beginning to feel a bit run down again.

Prior to taking the steroids Tony was extremely fatigued, eyes swollen, vision blurry, and no appetite to speak of. He's now eating well, getting around easily, swelling has subsided, and he's able to read and write without straining to see his computer screen. YAY!
Still no new surgery date, in spite of all the folks trying to help get it moved up. We hope and pray we might possibly get a new date this coming week.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE HAVING A BAD WEEK WHEN...
- Your husband feels so aweful, helooks like he's ready to put one foot in the ole pine box.
- Your dog begins walking with a limp, and the Vet can't figure out why.
- You spend a long evening in the emergency room after your parrot decides to bite your thumb in half (slicing the nerves in the process)
- You take an evaluation test in school, and the results confirm your suspicion that your primary school education was a total waste of time.
- You show up to school, after driving like a maniac through traffic, so as to not be late... only to find you've arrived a day early.
LPN PROGRAM APPLICATION IN THE WORKS:
March 1st was the deadline for turning in the application for MTEC's LPN program. I'll have a test to take, then wait to see if I'm chosen one of the 30 who begin the program in August. So far I'm managing fine in my Math for Meds and Medical Terminology class.
