Fr. Tony Update
++++++++++++
Dare I Say?
Thai-Bound Update

Fr. Tony Update:

Bishop Klusmeyer was in town this weekend for confirmations. It was great to see him.

As you can see from the image above, Tony was able to assist with the service, along with his trusty walking stick. I'm glad he felt up to it, though I know it was quite draining for him. Everyone was so pleased to see him.

DARE I SAY...

I guess it may officially be time for me to take down my "Let It Snow" flag, outside the front door. I'm not all that thrilled the hot weather is just around the corner, but am quite enjoying these more moderate temperatures. The temptation to visit the local garden center is hard to resist! Today I had to make a run to Lowes Hardware store, and the garden department was packed! All kinds of flowering plants, bushes, trees, bags of dirt, fertilizer, new mowers and gas grills were heading out into the parking lot! Fortunately, I was able to stay focused on my mission.... Levelor Blinds!

This time of year the afternoon sun comes beating down on us while we sit in the living room, so I purchased some really nice vertical blinds. The instructions said it would take 15 minutes to install them, but I'm sure it took me at least an hour or more!

THAI BOUND: Abbey and Lee Arrive Safely in Mae Sot!

Tony and I received an email from Abbey. I'm so glad she's keeping us posted on how the trip is going, and anxiously look forward to the photos! Below is the latest update:

Hello again, its me...we made it to Mae Sot at around 4:30 this morning and Megan picked us up shortly thereafter. We hopped on a tuk tuk to her friend's bar then picked up bikes and rode to the house. From there we got settled in, took showers, got some breakfast and then headed off to the market for some browsing.

We then met Megan's friend and co-worker, Thin Thin, and went to her house where she cooked us lunch...Burmese papaya salad, tomato salad, green vegetables and rice. Then, we passed out! It was definetly nap time being as we got little sleep on the overnight bus, it's 100 degrees here, and we're biking EVERYWHERE!

We woke up refreshed and rode over to the safe house and played with the kids for over an hour...they are all soooo adorable! I brought over a bunch of toys, coloring books, crayons, etc...but the big hit...sidewalk chalk! If it wasn't moving, it was colored on! Even I couldn't escape these little artists nd left with yellow and pink autographs all over my arms. It was a good time and I am so glad i got to see where megan's
been spending her time! Now we're cooling of in the internet cafe and looking up our island flights for tuesday...I can't wait!

So for now I'll sign off....we're alive, well, having fun and taking it all in!

Love to you all!

Abbey
