Early Afternoon Update:
Fr. Tony was moved back to his room on the 9th floor around noonish, after we located his special inflatable bed, and got all the wires, tubes, and misc accouterments transferred from one bed to the other, along with him. The 9West nurses were all especially glad to see him, spending most of last night and this morning inquiring about how surgery went.

Just prior to the move, I popped up to 9West to get our lip balm and was greeted by Mary Kay, charge nurse and most wonderful friend, who shared in our excitement about the successful surgery. As I returned to the CCUnit, I was greeted by Tony getting slightly worked up over the CCU nurse insisting Tony would be taken to the 10th floor. I jumped in and told them we had a room waiting for him. Not long after I informed them of the plan, our Mary Kay was right behind me.... confirming the news.... that our Tony would indeed be returning to the 9th floor.

Not long after Mary Kay took matters into her hands, the oncology team appeared and also informed the CCU team that Onc/Hem would be taking care of him from this point out. It's so nice to have so many wonderful folks rooting for our Tony, and doing all they can to help him through this.

As for our Tony... he's quite uncomfortable but with the help of pain meds, he seems to be managing. I highly suspect the epidural did not take, after seeing him last night in post op. He's now listening to his ipod crammed full of classical music, and resting.

So far so good.
Our love to you all
