Must have missed the sign?
Who put that bump in the road?

We need a little bit of God bothering out of everyone this evening. This afternoon Fr. Tony woke from his nap with a fever and chills. By 4pm it was at 101.3 f. After 2 Xtra strength Tylenol, and an hour wait, he was at 102.f So, I began making calls to track down the doctor, or someone who could tell us what we needed to do. I was directed to the 9th floor (Ruby hospital) nurse, who told us to "bring him on in".

So... Fr. Tony is now sitting patiently while they draw ooodles of viles of blood, and do a chest XRay. They'll be testing to find out if he's got a viral or bacterial infection. It seems that a week out from a dose of chemo, the body is at its most vulnerable. Guess he may have caught a bug, but goodness knows from where. Maybe he's allergic to fresh air? grin... We took a nice short stroll down by the river today, with Harry in tow. Or, it could be his PIC line causing a problem. He's got no other symptoms but the fever, and by the time we got to the hospital, the fever was gone.

As you can imagine, Fr. Tony was looking forward to taking the services tomorrow, but alas.... he'll be bed bound, and hooked up to an IV of anti-biotics. Fortunately, John and Jeanne stepped up to the plate and all will be well with the services tomorrow.

The nurses said he "should" be released tomorrow. I hope you'll join me in praying all goes well, and this will pass quickly. Must run his PJs and essentials back to the hospital... and quiet Harry down. There's a blasted cat sitting just on the outside of the fence, taunting him! Hrumph.

Much love to you all... ta ta for now, PitterPat
