Marky Parky has arrived!... Megaroo update... and other stuff

Mark arrived last night, and oh was his pop glad to see him! This morning, after a nice cup of tea and some breakfast, "the boys" are off to the church for Fr. Tony to do a little bit of work. Mark will share in a thanksgiving feast with us on Wednesday evening, then depart for home on Turkey day.

Megaroo...

Our Megan spent the weekend getting her website started. So far so good! You'll all have to take a peek at the masterpiece in the making. And, don't forget to view the photos section of her website. If your computer is a bit slow, and the images have a hard time loading, simply "refresh" the page, and they'll load up for you.

Megan is very much enjoying her new Macbook, thanks to her big brother Mark, whose parish raised the $1,000 need to purchase it. Truth be told, his parish raised over $2,000 to help with her expenses. We're so deeply thankful for their generosity, and Mark's valiant efforts.

We hope you'll all take a few moments out of your day to send her some well wishes. clavierm@gmail.com She's far from home, during a major American holiday. I don't think she'll be finding any roast turkey and dressing in Thailand any time soon.

Fr. Tony successfully finishes round two of his chemo treatment

Fr. Tony continues to do well, with the usual post chemo/steroid withdrawals. This go round, his ankles and feet have swollen up. We hope within the coming days the swelling will subside. Fortunately, our Dr. Craig is on top of things, and keeping an eye on him.

Other Stuff...

Christmas is just around the corner, and for an art/craft person, this means... GET TO WORK! The clock is ticking down!!! While working on some designs using celtic fabrics, Fr. Tony got into the act, and is now requesting new chasubles! Below are some designs I'm working on. The chasubles will be made out of linen or a linen/rayon combination, and embellished with celtic motif fabric. Some of you may not realize, but clerical garb is generally made from poyester, and while under the bright lights at the altar (generally raising the temperature of the altar area by 10+ degrees or more) it gets bloody hot! Polyester doesn't breath, and clergy are subjected to sauna like conditions thorughout the service. So, I'm hoping to create some vestments that will be comfortable, lightweight, and breath-able.

Must get moving. The boys will be back from the church soon, and fixing lunch won't be far behind. Will certainly be considering a nap today, as my Daisy (Goffins Cockatoo) decided she didn't want to sleep much last night, and kept me barely sleeping! Hrumph. I do hope you all have a glorious and joy filled Thanksgiving Day. I can assure you that this family is quite thankful for: how well Tony's doing; how well our children are doing; how wonderful it is to live in a place surrounded by so many caring folk; the love of family and friends from around the globe; how blessed we are to have such a kind/caring doctor (yes, you.. Dr. Craig); for Megan's safe arrival in Thailand; and for a beautiful sunny day.
