Settling in for the short haul...
Antibiotics began about 11pm last night... ya have to wonder if the hospital pharmacy is as understaffed as the various floors of the hospital, when it takes 4+ hours to get the drugs needed. Hrumph
So far bloodwork is coming back good, and results of the cultures are still pending. Dr. Craig came in for a visit late this morning, and checked Tony over. If the cultures come back OK, then the PIC line will be removed. The PIC line could be behind this fever nonsense. Doc ordered another antibiotic to be added to the IV, and within an hour of it coursing through his veins, Tony was feeling a bit better. One can tell his body is still battling something, since he's perspiring quite a bit. He's also got a bit more fluid retention/swelling going on.
Just off the phone with my Tony and he tells me his fever is up again... 102 f. Looks like he'll be in hospital till some time Tuesday. He's in room 903 if you'd like to give him a call. 304-598-4000.
Must round up clean PJs and head back to the hospital, after sorting out the dogs and parrots. They're none too happy with us being gone from home, and our Daisy and Ruby are not used to being couped up all day long.

Our Girl Ruby

Mikey, the toeless wonder bird.

Daisy, the bratish one. (just a wee bit spoiled)

and... last, but not least, JJ... the Man Eater. :)
Will report in as am able. Have a great evening. PitterPat
