FR. TONY UPDATE: Labs, Eye Specialists and ???:

Today (well, umm... yesterday, actually) was spent with doctors. We first visited Dr. Craig and had some lab work done. After a lengthy discussion about the blurred and double vision, Dr. C said he'd schedule an MRI. Tony and I then left to grab a bite to eat, then headed to the WVU Eye Institute, where a complete and thorough eye exam was done, along with some other tests, finally making it home about 5pm. The eye specialists aren't quite sure why the double vision, and mentioned many different things that could cause the blurred vision and/or double vision.

So..... back to the great unknown. Sunday evening Tony will have the MRI done. Monday the doctors will pow wow over the results, then Tuesday we'll meet up with Dr. C to go over everything. Depending on what's up with his results, will determine if he starts his next round of chemo on Tuesday.

On a different and not so great note, one of Tony's test results came back lower than is acceptable, and we're now monitoring him closely. If he gets a fever, he's to be taken to the hospital right away. So, all who needed to be contacted to be "on call" for Sunday, have been put on notice.... Just in case. Will report more news as we have it, and please keep Tony in your prayers.

THE NEW $1 COIN IS HERE.... suggestions

No more trying to stuff an old crumpled $1 bill into a machine, only to have it spit back at you, as if it were no good!

After living in France, I learned the value of having a one dollar coin. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some of these new coins, and plan to use them everywhere. In other countries, when they introduce a coin with the same value as the paper bill, they take the paper bill out of circulation, which helps promote the use of the new coin. What a novel idea, aye??? (no brainer, that one)

So, everyone.... over the next few months, try to only use the one dollar coin. Whenever you get change from a $5, $10, $20 bill, make sure they give you $1 coins and not $1 bills, and we can keep the coins in business. Today, while we were out, I picked up a $25 roll of the new coins.

KEEP ON GOD BOTHERING, Y'ALL:

Some encouraging, and not so encouraging reports coming out of Tanzania.

Intense listening, characterized by an expression of "patience, graciousness, care and respect" was the atmosphere in which the Primates gathered February 15, said Australia's Archbishop Phillip Aspinall during a media briefing following the conclusion of their first day of sessions.

"There has been no talk of schism in the meeting at all," he said.

Seven "Global South" archbishops refused to receive Holy Communion with their fellow Primates February 16, alleging that they were "unable to come to the Holy Table with the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church because to do so would be a violation of Scriptural teaching and the traditional Anglican understanding."

and Fancy Duds

THEN

Lead them to the altar

TOGETHER!

Please continue to pray for our church.

O God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Savior,
the Prince of Peace: Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the
great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions; take away
all hatred and prejudice, and whatever else may hinder us
from godly union and concord; that, as there is but one Body
and one Spirit, one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith,
one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all
of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth
and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and
one mouth glorify thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

3am! Couldn't sleep. So, what would any good mom do when she can't sleep?......... pick up the phone and call Thailand! It was so nice to hear Megan's voice, though a bit muffled. She's been VERY busy with SAW and other organizations. We hope to have some updates, journaling, and photos.... SOON! (Megan!)
