Last Day Folks.... Get Out and Count Those Tweety Birds:
Today's the last day to submit your count for the Great Backyard Bird Count. So, if you're enjoying a day off work for the Presidents' Day, take 15 minutes and find a place to count some birds.
Fr. Tony Update: MRI Complete, etc, etc:
We braved the cold and snow heading over to Ruby Memorial for Tony to have his MRI done. Not very comfortable, from what it sounded like. Hopefully we'll get some answers to the nagging question, "what's causing the blurred and double vision". That said, I suspect our Tony's "atypical" system will produce the following result, "We're not sure what's causing it". Welcome to our roller coaster world.
Tony's vision doesn't seem to be as bad today. Maybe whatever was going on is subsiding. Today the oncologist and eye specialists will be reviewing the MRI and test results. Tomorrow we head to the cancer center for Tony to "possibly" begin his month long round of Rituxan. The chemo all hinges on what the doctors find today.
So far no fever. YAY! Other then that, he's simply feeling quite "poorly". This could mean there's something going on with his cells/blood/or whatever it is they draw blood for.
Paying Work: YAY!
Just finished a design job for a woman who also has an African Grey and is in the process of establishing a "cattery".... Bengal Cats. She hopes to breed and sell Bengals. Anyway, prior to our journey on the cancer road, she asked me to create a logo for her. Below are some of the final choices.

Can you tell she's a coffee lover like me? grin Below is an image of her first Bengal. Here... kitty, kitty, kitty....

Snow and School:
Well, if we can keep the snow at bay for a while, maybe they won't have to cancel school as often. So far all is going well. I aced my first Medical Terminology test! YAY! Hopefully I'll do the same today, as I'll be getting together with a classmate to study. Studying with someone else might help jog the old grey matter cells a bit. Tomorrow will be the first of my woodworking class, as I sort of skipped the official first class. This term I hope to get the walking stick finished, turn some crochet hooks, pens, and build a small table and/or bookshelf. We shall see!
MISC.
Crunch time! My procrastination issues have been in the forefront of things these days. I've got till Wednesday (Ash Wednesday) to get a new chasuble done for Tony. I've got to get a few Messenger Bags completed. Must pick up Tony's vestments from the dry cleaners, somewhen (hmmmm, especially if I don't get said chasuble done in time!). I sort of got side tracked with "stuff" and a few baby items. The gal whom we adopted Buddy from is going to pop out a baby shortly, and considering how difficult it was to give up her bird, I thought I'd make the baby a nice gift. So, I've been working on an adorable little sweater set for him. As is the case with most things, I crochet, then rip stitches, crochet, rip stitches... till I get it looking exactly the way I want it. Will post a picture tomorrow.
Speaking of Buddy. He's fitting into the family flock nicely. This bird is such a character, though I must do something with his oddly formed beak, that's way too sharp. It's especially annoying when he decides he's not getting enough attention and pecks! ouch! Ruby and Daisy don't seem to be too bothered by the new addition to the family, though with Buddy being flighted, I don't allow him out when the girls are out with me. Mikey keeps a keen eye on Buddy. Since he doesn't have the best balance in the world, he easily falls, and Buddy's probably a bit too on the hyper side for Mikey. Soon, Mikey's new cage will arrive. It's a multi-level ferret cage, which will allow our toeless wonder to roam around more freely, in a safe environment.
Ruby's got a few more words added to her vocabulary, along with now immitating Buddy's squawk. Ruby knows the sound of the tea kettle and the tea pot. As soon as Tony gives the pot a stir, Ruby hollers, "Tea's up my darling", or "Tea's up my sweetheart". SO cute! Ah, I forgot, she's also fine tuned her bronchitis cough, since Tony and I have been hacking and coughing for over a week now! Lovely!
Megaroo checked in this morning via AIM. Poor dear was running a fever yesterday, and today she's battling a bit of a headache. Hopefully this will be short lived bout of whatever. The little kitty she and her roommates adopted last week, died and was buried (in a Tampax box, of all things).
Abbey's hangin' in there with a lot of work and practice hours, along with fund raising for the Roller Team. Hopefully she'll surface soon, in tact, and we'll get some pictures of her in her skating duds. Both she and Lee are getting very excited about their upcoming trip to Thailand. Wish I could go!
James, Greg and Jeanne's son, checked in this morning. So, we know he's arrived safe and sound in Iraq.
The Primate's Meeting in Africa should be wrapping up today. This afternoon they'll be issuing their final report. I'm sure Tony will have some pearls of wisdom to share with you all. So far my greatest disappointment is hearing there were bishops who refused to take communion. ugh! How childish! How unChristian! How unAnglican! sigh Such a horrid example those particular bishops are setting. HORRID!
Well, I'd best get back to my studying. Class tonight! Stay warm y'all.
