SCHOOL HAS BEGUN...
FR. TONY UPDATE...

SCHOOL HAS BEGUN:

Day One: Orientation.... Bumm Numbing! 9am-3pm we all sat listening to the head of the program review the school and program rules.... of which there are legion!

Day Two: Overslept, but made it to school on time! Met our three instructors. Very nice!

Class One: Fundamentals of Nursing.... I now know much about Medical Asepsis. What is this, you may ask? Basically it's all about keeping clean, preventing the spread of pathogens, etc. Soon... we'll get to try out all we learned about washing our hands! -grin-

Class Two: Contemporary Vocational Nursing... We spent a couple of hours reviewing all the things that will basically prevent us from doing well, if we don't get them sorted out NOW. Family, Commitments, Leisure Time, Cleaning, Cooking, Health, etc, etc, etc. Geeee, I wonder where a Stem Cell Transplant fits into all of that?

Class Three: Anatomy and Physiology... Hmmmm, left class wondering why I wasted my time taking the Medical Terminology Class when I didn't know half of what she was talking about! OY!

Basically, it looks like the coming year is going to be a great challenge with every spare moment being sucked up in studying, school, preparing for tests, and trying to find time to sleep.

FR TONY UPDATE:

Fr. Tony has been feeling quite well, and opted to head up to the cabin today, after getting his windshield fixed. I'm trying not to be concerned or worried that he's up there alone, or that there seems to be a rat taking residence in the cabin!

Tony's also been enjoying getting to see long time friends, Mark, Diane and Paul, along with assorted meals with a particularly favorite priest friend, Al.. and his wife Anne. Fr. Tony will enjoy having the cabin to himself over the next couple of days, then heads home on Friday.

Below are pictures from last summer's retreat to the cabin, so you get an idea of the rustic-ness of the place.

Above: Photo taken as we were preparing to leave the cabin last year. If you look to the left side of the shot, you may see the little mountain stream. In the front of the image is the bridge leading over the stream.

Above: Fr. Tony stretched out enjoying a nice book and nap. View of the inside of the one room cabin.

Above: While Abbey and Lee visited last year, they helped out with some of the daily chores... washing the dishes in the mountain stream.

Ahhhhhh... A little slice of heaven: Tony with his Ruby, a nice cup of tea and a good book. Nothin' finer.
