WEEK ONE DONE...
FR. TONY UPDATE...

WEEK ONE DONE...

I managed to survive the first week of school! YAY!
This week in brief:

  • Overslept Once, but made it sans shower by 8:10am.
  • Aced THREE tests.
  • Decided Mrs Vix is JUST TOO CUTE FOR WORDS! She will make learning much fun!
  • Anatomy and Physiology isn't as bad as one would expect.
  • Professional Adj. shouldn't be tough at all, since it seems like a lot of "common sense".
  • I'm the oldest student in the class!... but, the one with the most "life experience" by far!
  • Classmates all seem very nice. I think we'll make a great team of nurses one day.
  • Starting school at 8am is nothing short of torture! Must work to get a Starbucks located in the school!
  • Each of the instructors are awesome. Am looking forward to getting to know them better.

Clinicals will begin in a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to getting out and about with our instructors and classmates, for a bit of "hands on" experience. Not that I don't have some already, but...

On a different front... Buddy (our little Hahn's Macaw) is now gone. His former owner's daughter came to get him after calling to say how much she missed Buddy. She will be heading off to college in a week or two, and Buddy will be her roommate. I'm so happy for Buddy!!!, but I'll miss the little guy just the same!

FR. TONY UPDATE:

The long wait is over. Test results are in and we're now back on track! But, after a lengthy discussion with Dr. Craig, taking into consideration the lack of cancer seen in Tony's bone marrow, and how well Tony's doing, the Stem Cell Transplant has been put on the bag burner for now, as we move into the "Watch and Wait" phase.

Am a bit relieved Tony won't have to undergo the risky and sick making SCT for now. Plus, I'll be able to better focus on school, till we have to consider this option again.

Tony arrived home from his little holiday in NC, looking well and refreshed. Unfortunately, the car didn't arrive home in the same condition. grin After looking at the location of the dent (1st point of impact with wayward deer), we're quite fortunate things were not a lot worse!

So, we shall now invoke the ole saying, "KBO"! (Keep Buggering On!)

MEGAROO:

All is going well in Portland! Megan's doing great at her new job with the Apple Store, and she's found a room to rent. So far so good!
