Wednesday Evening Update:

Whole lot of nothing much happened today. Spent day waiting for doctors to appear and give us some news.

Thank you Irene for the lovely picture of my mom, dad, Abbey and Megan!!!

Tony was visited by several specialists, and several times by the thoracic surgeon's sidekick. We await results of CT scan as they determine whether to go ahead with surgery. Lung is not draining as well as they would like, and apparently chest tubes will only do so much when it comes to draining the fluid completely. Surgery has been recommended to take care of all the issues at once, with the best outcome possible.

Tony has begun eating and drinking more fluids. We hope to get him up and around some tomorrow. He's still very weak. This evening he was beginning to feel some pressure on the left side of his chest, so the vampire department was at it drawing blood when I left, and will be waking him through the night for more. Poor guy!

We may possibly know something more tangible over the next couple of days, but the really good news is the white blood cell count is down, which means the infection is going away....... one presumes.

As you can see..... situations like this are never very concrete. One spends countless hours sitting and waiting... waiting.... waiting... waiting.... for some good news to grasp on to.

Thank you to those who sent cards.

Thank you to Fr. Moses, Pastor Matthew and Fr. Swift for checking in on Tony.

It would be really, really nice if we could find a priest who would visit OFTEN and offer Tony communion! Two days ago I raided the sacristy and brought consecrated wafers so Mark could give his dad communion. Am I wrong to think Tony should be receiving communion often, if not daily???? Sorry to rant, but this is not sitting well with me.
