2 weeks into hospital stay, and Tony seems to be managing his confinement, though he's getting supremely tired of being couped up! Yesterday was fairly uneventful. Some of the various departments that will be associated with the surgery checked in. The CT surgeon's asst. popped in and said the surgery will take place anywhere from Sunday to Wednesday. We asked that they at least give us a days notice, so I can contact Matthew (Tony's spiritual caretaker).
Tony's back on the pain pump so he can manage the discomfort the chest tubes seem to be presenting. Hopefully we'll get someone to check the tubes and dressing today, as it's not been done since the 3rd of Nov.
John P. paid Tony a visit yesterday, along with Matthew, who brought Tony communion. THANK YOU Matthew.
Might try to give Tony a haircut today. The lack of being able to take a shower is quite frustrating to him. We did manage to get his hair washed yesterday, but he'd much prefer a good ole fashioned bath!
With the weekend now upon us, we don't anticipate seeing any physicians, so it's more sitting around and waiting. Tony is able to check his email, and spends time reading. He's eating well, considering the food he's being brought. The nurses continue to do a great job tending to him, though I'd be happier if they were getting him off his bum more.
Must get ready to head to Ruby. More later.
