Drat... just when we thought the fever was licked...

Just found out this morning that the fever returned last night. Drat! So, I doubt Fr. Tony will be coming home today. We shall see. PIC line is out, and he continues on antibiotics. Dr. Craig popped in to check up on Tony. I think we've decided to adopt him. grin

Last night we got a visit from Fr. Kirk (Trinity Episcopal Church). He brought Tony and I communion. Our dear friend Fr. Zadig called from NC to check in. It's always a heart warming time when Fr. Zadig calls. Irene Muffley came by to visit with Tony, and took me to lunch.

FLICKS, FLICKS, FLICKS:

I keep meaning to put a list of "must see", and "avoid like the plague" movies we've seen while Tony's got plenty of in house time on his hands.

MUST SEE and NOT TOO BAD

With Tony pretty much home bound, we decided to sign up for Blockbusters online program, and I really have to admit it's well wortht he small price you pay... and SO many more good movies to choose from, then one finds in the local Blockbuster store.

An Inconvenient Truth (THIS is definately top of the list right now! Am having to resist dragging out my soap box to get more folks aware of this topic. grin)

Al Gore spends the bulk of the movie working hard to convince folks around the globe.. about the ever growing need for us all to be mindful of the harm we're inflicting on our planet. We can no longer bury our heads in the sand over this issue. The proof and evidence is quite eye opening! Yes, Mr. Bush, global warming exists!

Viggo Mortensen

Lord of the Rings Series: Very entertaining, and the special affects are fantastic, although Froto's behavior can be a bit frustrating at times. grin Of course, his valiant helpers, Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen are NOT bad to look at either!

Orlando Bloom

Waking Ned Devine: This is such an adorable movie!! "a story about a small town in Ireland called Tulaigh More, where one of their 52 inhabitants wins the lotto jackpot of nearly seven million pounds. When nobody claims it, the town goes on a search to find out why. They find the winner, old Ned Devine, dead -- a smile on his face, clutching the winning ticket. Well, in Ireland, the lottery winnings must be claimed by the purchaser, which puts the town in a spot -- if the lottery officials discover Devine dead, he forfeits his money. What ensues is a community coming together in hopes of getting his money to split 51 ways. What they learn is the importance of friendship and the true value of money. To reveal any more would spoil some major surprises, but suffice it to say, it involves aging actors David Kelly, 69, and Ian Bannen, 70, naked. ~ Chris Gore, All Movie Guide"

Brassed Off:

Saving Grace: THIS is a MUST SEE! Hugely Funny!

"Waking Ned Divine (1998) meets Up in Smoke (1978) in this wacky British comedy about growing marijuana. Grace Trevethan (Brenda Blethyn is a cheerful upper-class housewife and gardening enthusiast who is blithefully unaware of business matters. This all changes when she learns that her husband fell from an airplane without a parachute. Her husband's numerous hare-brained schemes at getting rich quick left their accounts in utter ruin. Worse, if she does not raise 300,000 pounds quickly, she might lose her manor. Out of sheer desperation, she turns to her oddball Scottish gardener Matthew (Craig Ferguson), who suggests growing pot. Grace puts her green thumb to work, and in the blink of an eye the greenhouse is converted into the biggest marijuana farm in Cornwall. Soon, word gets out to the not unsympathetic townspeople, including the local doctor -- who is somewhat of a pot enthusiast -- and a horror flick-loving Vicar. Unfortunately, a nervy French drug lord (Tcheky Karyo) also learns of their scheme and soon starts causing trouble. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide"
